Throughout the tours you will find places to stop for a respite.  This is a more thorough list of places to sit for a sip or purchase a pound.

Four Barrel Coffee

Four Barrel Coffee is a local independent coffee company that roasts their own beans.

They have four locations:

Mission District: 375 Valencia Street    7am to 8pm 7 days a week

Alamo Square: The Mill at 736 Divisidero Street   7am to 7pm Tue-Sunday 7am to 9pm on Modays

Portola Valley: 2 Burrows Street  7am to 4pm 7 days a week

Peets coffee

Peet’s Coffee was started across the bay in Berkeley, California in 1966.  They have nine San Francisco locations spread throughout the city.

Blue Bottle Coffee

Blue Bottle Coffee is headquartered across the bay in Oakland, California.  They are a roaster that specializes in single-origin beans.

They have 8 locations throughout San Francisco

Sextant Coffee

Sextant Coffee is an independent cafe and roastery founded by Kinani Ahmed, a first-generation Ethiopian. Sextant works directly with farmers across Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, and elsewhere.

Philz Coffee is a 25 year old San Francisco coffee company focusing on drip coffee. Philz has 13 San Francisco locations and one coffee truck.


SightGlass is a micro roaster born in San Francisco’s SOMA district.

Henry’s House of Coffee is run by Henry Kalebjian and his son Hrag.  They roast coffee everyday.

Duboce Park Cafe

Duboce Park Cafe,  at 2 Sanchez, sits very near to the first place that Juan Bautista de Anza found water, making San Francisco a viable place to settle.  It serves food all day, and sits across from Duboce Park.

Farm:Table, at 745 Post in the Tenderloin, serves coffee and lots of wonderful bites to eat.

Hours: M 8:30am to Noon
T-F 7:30 to 2:00pm

Piccino Coffee Bar serves the DogPatch part of town at 1001 Minnesota Street.

Spikes Coffee and Tea, sits in the heart of the  Castro District at 4117 19th Street

Japanese Tea Garden

The Tea House lies in the center of the tranquil Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.

Hours: Summer (3/1 through 10/31): 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Winter (11/1 through 2/28): 9:00 am to 4:45 pm


Lovejoy’s at 1351 Church Street, Noe Valley,  is a quirky English Tea House, specializing tea and all its accoutrements.

Hours: Wed thru Sun 11am to 6pm

Palace Hotel

The Palace Hotel at the corner of New Montgomery and Market Street serves High Tea every day from 2 until 5.

The Rotunda

The Rotunda in Neiman Marcus on Union Square serves High Tea from 2:30-4pm Sun-Th, F-S 2:30-5pm

Tal y Tara Tea and Polo Shop is on the North side of Golden Gate Park at 6439 California Street.  Outer Richmond

Song Tea and Ceramics

Song Tea, at 2120 Sutter Street in Lower Pacific Heights, is much more than just a tea shop. It is also a ceramics shop filled with the collection of ceramists from around the world.
